Frequently Asked Questions

Dietitians are regulated, licensed healthcare professionals who have formal education (usually a bachelor’s or master’s degree), have completed supervised practice, and must pass a national exam. Nutritionist is a more general term and can be used by people with varying levels of training, and in some states anyone can call themselves a nutritionist without formal education or credentials. In short: All dietitians are nutritionists, but not all nutritionists are dietitians, so if you're on the hunt for expert nutritionists, Loop is the place for you.

We are in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, United Healthcare, Humana and Cigna. Most insurance plans provide coverage for unlimited visits regarding preventative nutrition counseling with a Registered Dietitian.

No referral is required for your first 60-minute consultation. Further, most insurance plans do not require a referral to be covered. As a benefit to you, we check your insurance coverage and will let you know if a referral is necessary before your first paid visit.

We have multiple cash pay options and your dietitian will discuss the best options for your goals and budget.

Either in one of our offices located within O2 Fitness (see locations page for office locations) or telehealth via our secure portal.

At Loop Nutrition, we take a holistic approach to nutrition guidance, focusing on the whole person… not just food. Our motto is “Change your life without changing it,” which means we take your long-term wellness goals and break them down into small, impactful steps. We avoid uprooting your existing lifestyle and instead, integrate sustainable changes that become a natural part of your routine. Our approach is all about fostering a positive relationship with food, creating lasting habits, and helping you achieve sustainable results that fit your life.

In your first session, your dietitian will walk through your health history, recent dieting habits, and typical meal schedule. They'll answer any questions you have and explain how they can support you moving forward. It's totally okay if you're not sure what you want to get out of the session! Our dietitians come prepared with thoughtful questions to help guide the conversation and make sure you feel comfortable and supported.

Just bring yourself, a list of any meds you’re taking, and your insurance card if we don’t already have it. That’s all you need - we’ll handle the rest!

Results look different for everyone, but our goal is to help you use nutrition to support your personal goals. Whether that’s improving symptoms, boosting energy, or building long-term habits. We’ll create a plan that fits your lifestyle and helps you make sustainable progress, not quick fixes.

Yes, our dietitians are happy to help with anything you need in between sessions! Whether it’s questions, guidance, or support, feel free to reach out. We’re here for you.

You’re not alone – a lot of our clients come to us feeling frustrated or stuck. We’re here to listen, support you without judgment, and create a plan that actually fits your life. It’s okay if nothing has worked before – we’re here to help you find what will.
